Editorial standards and corrections policy
PFN publishes for buyers making expensive, location-dependent decisions. These standards are designed to make each answer traceable, bounded, and easy to correct.
Named accountability
Guides name their author or editor and link to a page explaining that person's role and limits.
Primary sources first
Code and permit claims should link to statutes, agencies, or local authorities. Financing explanations should link to the responsible government agency or regulator.
Examples are not averages
A builder or supplier price is labeled as a market example with its date and scope. PFN does not call a figure an average without a documented, representative data set.
Scope before comparison
Cost content distinguishes kit, materials, shell, slab, utilities, site work, and finished space so unlike quotes are not presented as equivalent.
Meaningful updates
A page's updated date changes when its claims, sources, or recommendations materially change—not merely when the site rebuilds.
Visible uncertainty
Where rules or prices depend on location, PFN says so and directs readers to the authority or professional who can confirm the answer.
Commercial transparency
Advertising, sponsorships, referral relationships, and paid placement must be labeled. Commercial relationships do not change PFN's factual standards.
AI-assisted work
PFN may use software and AI tools to help organize research, compare source language, check arithmetic, or draft revisions. A named human editor remains accountable for the published page. AI output is not treated as a source, and a citation must resolve to the underlying evidence.
Request a correction
Email rick@postframe.networkwith the page URL, the exact issue, and evidence. Material corrections are reviewed and reflected in the page's updated date. Directory-specific definitions are in the PFN methodology.
